All in CARAVANING 2012 to Stimulate China’s Caravan Market, Concurrent Events Spotlighting on Solutions to the Three Key Bottlenecks

05.29.2012

With rapid economic development and improved consuming capacity in China, caravan is no longer an unknown product. The caravan, a moving home on the wheels, has come into Chinese people's lives and get more and more popular during recent years. This has led to a boost in caravan sales in China ever since 2009: the caravan number in China leaped from only about 3000 caravans in 2009 to over 6000 within three years. On the other hand, the auto camping industry, essential to caravan users, is still in an initial phase. Messe Düsseldorf (Shanghai) Co., Ltd and YASN International Exhibition Co., Ltd will jointly organize All in CARAVANING 2012 (referred to as "AIC 2012") with a series of concurrent events, in National Agricultural Exhibition Center from August 10 to 12, 2012. This event is dedicated to promote the development of the caravanning and auto camping industries by providing an international platform for communication, sharing international good experience & best practices and brainstorming a reasonable road-map for China market.

The organizers will customize an outdoor exhibiting area on the boulevard of the exhibition venue for well-known caravan brands, introducing caravans and auto camping cultures in developed countries. The indoor exhibition area in the new hall is expected that over 80 local and international exhibitors will make their debuts this year, with exhibits ranging from caravan components & technology, camping site planning & facilitating system, outdoor outfit and equipment, and camping site. Apart from exhibits demonstration and showcasing, there are various concurrent events including "All in CARAVANING Annual Conference 2012", "China Campsite Experience Program", "Olympic 2012 with Caravan", "Caravan Idols Workshop" and special exhibit promotions. With the well integrated exhibition and event platform, the organizer is aiming to stimulate the growth of China’s caravan market by spotlighting on the potential solutions to the three key bottlenecks: lack of laws and regulations, insufficient infrastructure such as camping sites and docking points, and an immature caravan culture. Messe Düsseldorf GmbH (MD), the organizer of the world premier caravan show Caravan Salon Düsseldorf, also extends its support to AIC 2012. Representatives of various international auto camping associations and corporations are invited and will deliver speeches in the conference.

Domestic and international brands onsite to bringing caravans closer to Chinese people
In developed countries, a caravan costs much less than traditional housing. Young people are fond of drifting around therefore caravans are good choices for many westerners. In China, however, settling in a caravan instead of an apartment or house is not that well-accepted. Moreover, for potential buyers, due to a lack of understanding and the fact that caravans cannot compete with star hotels in terms of comfort, they will think they investment is not worthwhile, therefore doubts or even misunderstanding among consumers will emerge.

During AIC 2012, visitors will have the opportunity to see over a hundred of caravans and directly talk to caravan producers and private owners. Through presentations, owners will share their own stories and dreams about their caravans. "Chinese Caravan Figure 2012 "award will be announced after systematic competition and evaluation, seeking the best stories of caravan fans to promote the caravan culture and lifestyle. The final two winners will be entitled to be sponsored by the organizers to visit the Caravan Salon Düsseldorf Germany in this August, to witness and experience the world top caravan event.

During the exhibition, experiential events will be held so that visitors will be able to learn about the fun of caravan travelling by themselves.

China Campsite Experience Program – This program is to promote the auto camping culture, accelerate the development and construction of Chinese campsites, and facilitate the formulation of caravan- and campsite- related regulations, policies and industry standards in China, as well as let RV owners and camping fans know more about the Chinese campsites. Through careful selection of excellent campsites, we will provide abundant information and great offers for the exhibitors and VIP buyers. More than 20 campsites are expected to participate in the program; they will also introduce the detailed information on their campsites at the show, as well as arrange a lot of attractive on-site activities.

Olympic 2012 with Caravan - through extensive coordination with various parties, the organizers have successfully managed to let the caravan drive into one of the best camping site in Beijing---International Auto-camping Park, where visitors can witness the magnificent London Olympic broadcasting, and enjoy the memorable summer night in the park with green plants, beers, music, kites and other caravan fans. Moreover, the visitors will watch the live broadcast of the closing ceremony of London Olympic Games on August 12th to witness the historical moment.

Caravan Idols Workshop - Driving caravans are different from driving cars. It requires special technique and training. The workshop will give instructions to caravan fans and make them more skilled and experienced drivers. In addition, there will be a ‘Silver Wings’ special session, focusing on senior citizens and letting them have a try of caravan driving.

A high-level forum with expertise from the globe for a win-win development between caravan and the tourism industry
Concurrent with the exhibition, All in CARAVANING Annual Conference 2012 will be held to share the updated insights, expertise and experience from representatives of government departments, industrial associations and well-known caravan companies. Distinguished speakers from a variety of organizations have early confirmed their participation, including Ministry of Transportation of China, Ministry of Public Security of China, Ministry of Transportation of Germany, Germany Caravan Association, United States Caravan Association, Californian Caravan Association, El Monte RV Motorhome Vacations Group, and etc. In the conference, experts and professionals will analyze and share international experience to highlight the direction of future development for China’s caravan market by drawing from worldwide best practices and case studies, to encourage discussions about constructive advices on China’s caravan market environment.

One key issue for caravan travel is site construction. Without site support, caravans are burdens rather than recreations. The site will not only be a docking point, but also a service provider for electricity, water refilling and pollution treatment. In the United States and Europe, there are a wide range of high quality caravan sites to meet diverse needs. Good sites are those that are close to places of interests, close to nature, able to provide entertainment, sports, business and casual services for campers. Currently the government has been realizing the importance of camp construction, with related plans issued to encourage the construction.

In order to promote healthy and scientific planning and construction of domestic camping sites, the organizers also invited international travelling and camping associations to the conference. So far, the Fédération Internationale de Camping et de Caravanning (F.I.C.C), State General Administration of Sports, National Tourism Administration, United States National CARAVANING and Camping Foundation, National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds (US), California Travel and Park Association, Disneyland Theme Park Designer, German Camping Business Association, Japan Auto Camping Association (J.A.C), Korea Camping & CARAVANING Federation (K.C.C.F) and Beijing Automobile Camping Committee have confirmed their participation. They will share experience on a wide range of topics such as site location and selection, financing, construction, operation, service, maintenance and etc.
