Messe Düsseldorf Shanghai report solid growth and outstanding show results in 2017

Messe Düsseldorf China (MDC) and Messe Düsseldorf Shanghai (MDS) report to be on a solid growth path with exceptional show performance in 2017. Taking the fast-paced markets of China in its focus, Messe Düsseldorf Shanghai organized a total of 9 Trade Shows and Conferences adding up to some 364,000 gross square meters of exhibition space, accommodating upwards of 6,000 national and international exhibitors who showcased their products and solutions to some 240,000 visitors. Internationally, Messe Düsseldorf China supported a total of 31 leading shows hosted by Messe Düsseldorf Group in 9 countries, helping some 3,000 Chinese companies gain access to global markets.

In 2017, Messe Düsseldorf Shanghai has continued to carry the momentum in show growth, performance and brand development in China, setting new standards in both exhibition quality and statistics. This year, Messe Düsseldorf China successfully held its first show in Hong Kong while effectively supported the group’s worldwide trade fair portfolio throughout the year.

Continued and sustainable growth in China and worldwide

 

In mid-November, ProWine China again secured its position as the most influential wines and spirits platform in China, increasing in visitor numbers and professionalism. This year, 14,219 trade visitors, a 14.3% year over year increase, traveled to Shanghai to source from an international showing of 700 wines and spirits exhibitors from 39 countries and regions - speaking to the organizer's commitment to industry development as well as wine education offered by the ProWine China platform.

 

Responding to the demand and priority of international exhibitors to capture Asia’s market opportunities, Messe Düsseldorf China successfully held the inaugural ProWine Asia in Hong Kong in May of this year. The show brought over 310 exhibitors from 21 countries & regions, attracted upwards of 12,164 visitors from 67 countries and regions and received overwhelmingly positive feedback from a major portion of participants. ProWein World’s family of professional trade shows now covers trade networks across Europe, mainland China, and the pivotal Asia-Pacific trading hubs of Hong Kong and Singapore.

 

Industry emphasis and development

 

MDS has set priority on building influence in the fast-evolving and innovative domestic medical device industry, successfully pairing Medical Fair China with a stirring China Medical Innovation Forum in 2017. This year was the second edition of the Forum, which saw tremendous growth by drawing participation from 47 top keynote speakers and attracting 1,268 attendees. An exciting and well attended Exhibition Zone was introduced and featured 30 companies driving medical device innovation in China and beyond. This project is special in the history of MDS as it is directly financially supported by the German Government with a Public Private Partnership Project.

 

All in CARAVANING (AIC) saw tremendous success in 2017, breaking all previous show records and ending with significant growth in exhibitor and visitor numbers. Leveraging the thriving RV Camping culturing in China, AIC 2017 brought an international showing of 650 exhibitors from 16 countries and regions to Beijing Exhibition Center. The 33,000 sqm of exhibition space continuously brimmed with 21,826 visitors - an increase of 25.7% from the last edition.

 

Looking ahead to 2018

 

In the coming year, three biennial shows will return: All in Print (AIP), China International Occupational Safety & Health Exhibition (COS+H) and wire & Tube China. MDS will continue to make enhancements, growing the returning shows to improve performance while refining upon each trade fair’s industry focus and visitor quality.
