The 4th World Footwear Development Forum, concurrently held with Dongguan China Shoes and highly appreciated by Mr. Wen Jiabao, Premier of China, had its grand opening yesterday (31 Oct) in Dongguan Regal Palace Hotel. The forum invited footwear's authorities as speakers include: Mr. Long Yongtu, former Vice Minister & Chief Negotiation Representative of the Foreign Economic Relations and Trade Ministry, Mr. Peter T. Mangione, former president of Footwear Distributors and Retailers of America, to discuss on topics such as "Internationalization – The Geographical Shift of Footwear's Manufacturing" & "Optimization and Integration of the World Footwear Industry" for promoting footwear industry's development, transformation and upgrading.

With 6 months selection time, "The 4th Belle Innovation Charity Fund Sponsored China Leather Innovative Design Competition" selected 45 works into the preliminaries, and the final winners will be announced today! The champion will get an exchange scholarship of RMB100,000, the second prize will be given to 2 winners, who will be invited to the world's largest international shoes exhibition GDS in March 2013 in Düsseldorf. The other winners will be given a training course provided by WGSN and the Netherland Education and Innovation Center for Footwear & Leather Design (SLEM).
