ProWine China 2016 features more national pavilions

06.23.2016

proWine China 2015 was once again a great success: 600 wines and spirits manufacturers from 33 countries participated in the fair including 88 exhibitors from China as well as 512 from overseas. By May 2016, ProWine China 2016 (7-9.11.2016) has witnessed strong progress in exhibitor applications, both national pavilions and individual applications. Exhibitors from Austria, Germany, Greece, Portugal, Georgia, Australia, United States of America, South Africa, Argentina, Chile, France, Italy, Sweden, Macedonia, Romania, Canada, Finland, Russia and China already confirmed their participation at ProWine China 2016. Large wine producers such as Les Grands Chais de France have not only confirmed their participation but also expanded their trade fair presence.

Reflecting stability in the market and in fact growing demand for import wines, many national pavilions have requested to enlarge their exhibiting space from last year. The Georgia pavilion will make its second show at ProWine China with more than 100 square meters space. Other national pavilions such as France and Greece will also bring more of their top wine producers. Australia, who exhibited at ProWine China 2015 as an official national pavilion for the first time, has booked 20% more space at ProWine China 2016 – due to the China-Australia Free Trade Agreement (ChAFTA) from December 2015. Australia also ranked second in China’s wine import source and accounted for 15.2% of total imports share.

Distributor Zone offers more opportunities to importers and distributors

ProWine China 2016 will continue to introduce the Distributor Zone. This area allows distributors to enjoy preferential policies including stand space application, the priority to attend master classes, join industry summits and so on. With its partner WINE 100 and Vinhoo the organizers network will cover importers and distributors primarily from Henan, Gansu, Hainan, Anhui, Jiangxi, Zhejiang, Fujian, Hunan, Hubei and other provinces.

ProWine China Education Campaign: very exciting and targeted

In 2014, the organizer of ProWine China created the concept of “ProWine China Education Campaign”, aimed at featuring high-quality events of seminars for wine education and training to meet the rising demand for wine knowledge in China. Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Forum, Master Class, Industry Summit and Thematic Tasting are all under its umbrella. WSET is the largest global provider of qualifications in the field of wines and spirits. At ProWine China 2015, WSET organized a series of forums led by Jude Mullins, Fongyee Walker, Martin Hao, Young Shi and other certified educators.

The highlight of this year’s “ProWine China Education Campaign” will be the Thematic Tasting. Tasting events will be held on the theme of Grand Fine Wine and Biodynamic Wine. Neal Martin, whose current remit includes Bordeaux (with Robert Parker), Burgundy, Oregon, South Africa, Madeira and Tokaji, as well as contributing chapters for Parker's 7th Wine Buyers Guide, will bring Robert Parker Wine Advocate 95+ point wines to the tasting and share his knowledge of these premier wines with the trade visitors to ProWine China 2016. More information about Biodynamic Wine tasting will follow soon.

ProWine China is organised in partnership by Messe Düsseldorf Group (organiser of ProWein, the leading international trade fair for wines and spirits) and China International Exhibitions Ltd., a member of the Allworld Exhibitions network. ProWine China is held alongside FHC China, the country’s leading trade fair for imported food. The 4th edition of ProWine China will take place at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC) from 7 to 9 November 2016.
