Successful Conclusion of the 11th Dongguan China Shoes·China Shoetec (Spring 2010)

The 11th Dongguan China Shoes‧China Shoetec Incorporating China Bag Zone (Spring 2010) achieved a thrilling closing on May 6, 2010 at GD Modern International Exhibition Center, Houjie, Dongguan. With the support of Mr. Chen, Mayor of Houjie Town and the representatives of industry associations, this 3-day fair successfully attracted trade visitors from 70 countries and regions. It manifests an effective platform for releasing the newest trends and facilitating business collaboration between industry players.

Encouraging Comments by Past and New Exhibitors


Occupying an exhibition area of 20,000sqm, Dongguan China Shoes (Spring 2010) accommodated 472 past and new exhibitors, further consolidated the professionalism of the show. Among all, Mr. Fong of Peninsula International Corp. Ltd., an exhibitor who joined for 11 editions since the show's debut, agreed that the overall atmosphere was good and he met many potential buyers. Long Yuan Shoes Co., Ltd. has participated for 11 editions too, "The result was encouraging and far beyond my expectation. I am considering increasing the booth area in the coming edition." commented by Mr. Huang from the company. Mr. Chen from Be Me Co., Ltd. (8-editions exhibiting experience) who met numerous wholesalers in the fair, confirmed to take a bigger booth to showcase more samples next time. Mr. Jose Alberto, the representative of Tatuaggi-Industria De Ealecdo. Lda from Portugal (3-editions exhibiting experience) said, "I met many potential brand agencies and department store buyers, China market has great potential and we should invest more, that's why we are planning to double up the booth size to 72sqm, with a mini fashion show stage in the booth for a better presentation." Ms. Yan from Wenzhou Huaxuan Shoes Co., Ltd. (2-editions exhibiting experience) said that thanks to the organizer's buyer invitation in Japan and Korea, she met several buyers from the mentioned countries. Meanwhile, Ms. Li from Jia Yue Footwear Manufacturer Co., Ltd. (2-editions exhibiting experience) was glad to see many new buyers from European countries.

China Bag Zone was newly set up in this edition, Mr. Zhou from CPJ Ltd., indicated that he met numerous potential Chinese buyers, which help them to promote their business in domestic market. Winpo Industries Ltd. was also content with its debut because over 10 potential buyers were met and numerous stock bags were sold during exhibition. 

The show is highly appreciated by exhibitors of shoe materials and shoe machines too. Material exhibitor Hong Wong Co. has participated for 3 consecutive years, Manager Chen praised for the overall arrangement and agreed on the strength of Dongguan China Shoes in reaching potential buyers and reinforcing their brand image. Manager Yang from Yili Shoes Machine Ltd. (10-editions exhibiting experience) gave his nice compliment on the show. He said that the quality of visitors as well as the services is better than similar fairs; many orders were received during the show period. Zhengnan (China) Accurate Automatic Equipment Co., Ltd. and Enping Yuyuan Nonwoven Co., Ltd. also gained much through the participation, especially Enping Yuyuan, which successfully met many buyers from Europe and Asia.

Gathered Buyers from Around the World to Source for the Latest Products


As an effective platform for exhibitors to promote their new products, Dongguan China Shoes attracted 14,836 visitors from 70 countries and regions, including China, Hong Kong, Taiwan Province, US, Russia, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Australia, Korea, India, Italy, etc. Many renowned enterprises and brands like New Balance, Li & Fung, Brown Shoes, Li-Ning, Aokang, Carrefour, Meters Bonwe and more had come to visit. S. Hesry, Quality Manager of French company Joylink Ltd., paid his first time visit to Dongguan China Shoe for sourcing shoe materials. He claimed that the concept of displaying footwear, materials and machinery under one-roof was good; the registration procedure was satisfactory as well. A. Gomez, Sales Manager of Amorpropio (Columbia) expressed, "I am glad to see those footwear I am looking for. The quality of this show is better than others, with clear exhibit classification." L. Ntshingila, Chairman of Nova Footwear (South Africa) who looked for women sandals and casual shoes, also satisfied with the show and she has decided to come again after her first time visit in this edition. Mr. Ng from Hong Kong Wing On Department Store placed several orders on women shoe, "Certainly I shall visit again, I hope the coming edition will be even better." Besides, VIP buyers from Shanghai Overseas Import & Export Co., Ltd., Qingdao Meihua Datong Trading Co., Shanghai Hugang Trading Co., China Dongxiang (Group) Co., Ltd. / Shanghai Kappa Sporting Goods Co., Ltd., Ningbo Jiaruiwole Import & Export Co., Ltd., etc. were also satisfied with the services provided. 

Over 300 Audiences Attended the Trend Releases


2010/11 Global Trend Releases were the highlight of this edition. Ms. Elaine Tam, Product Manager of WGSN presented "Future Style: Global Trend Directions AW10/11 & Trend Futures SS11" on May 4, providing perceptible insight on 2011 trend forecast of shoes and bags. Ms. Maryann Wong, Director of Sales & Marketing, Fashion & Home of Pantone LLC and Ms. Carol Lai, General Manager China Region of WLH International Ltd. also made presentations on "Color Trend: Symmetry – A Timely Point of Focus Leading to Beautiful Expressions for Spring / Summer 2011" and "Materials Forecast: Material Trend for Spring / Summer 2011" respectively on May 5. Pantone® brought the audiences to a mysterious world of symmetry for spring / summer 2011; while WLH shared the materials trends and safety regulations of 3 major markets – Europe, US and China. Over 300 audiences were attended with great success.

In addition, there were series of technical seminars held concurrently, including "China Creative Awakening", "REACH and Finished Products", "Quality Control on Footwear Manufacturing", "Updates on the EU's Ban on Dimethylfumarate (DMF) and REACH Requirement", "E-Commerce for Enterprises", "Free Your Talent", "How to Make Your High Quality Product Stand Out in The Market", etc. The seminars were conducted in an interactive way for speakers to share and exchange views with audiences.

Exciting Concurrent Activities Well Received by the Industry


Numbers of exhibitors held their fashion shows at the fairground. Peninsula International Corp. Ltd, Guangzhou Isca Shoes, Radiant Footwear displayed their newest women shoes respectively; while Lead Style Ltd demonstrated men & women casual shoes. Dongguan Upchain launched its men leather shoe brand "Tie San Dao" and CPJ promoted its leather handbag brand "Charming Pop".

Furthermore, the newest fashion show video of GDS 2010 (Spring) was being played exclusively at the fairground with subjects "Trend Show for 2010/2011 Autumn Winter", "Upper Style – Louis MMXI",  "Wellness – Easy to Go" and "Urban Fashion and Kids". With overwhelming support from buyers and trade associations, organizers will continue this activity, helping China's shoe industry to grasp the global trend forecast of coming seasons.

Awarding shoe & bag designs from Hong Kong Shoe Design Competition were displayed in the exhibition. On the one hand, shoe designers succeeded in presenting their creation and passion to visitors; on the other hand the designs could inspire and enlighten other designers, manufacturers and brands in production.

Through the staunch support from various trade associations, exhibitors and buyers, The 11th Dongguan China Shoes‧China Shoetec Incorporating China Bags Zone (Spring 2010) was successfully concluded. Organizers are pleased to announce that the next edition (Autumn 2010, the 12th edition) will be held again at Houjie, Dongguan on Oct 28 – 30, 2010, bringing more advantages and convenience to all industry players.

The show is jointly organized by China Chamber of Commerce for Import & Export of Light Industrial Products and Arts-Crafts (CCCLA), Messe Düsseldorf China Ltd., Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd. and Guangdong Modern Convention and Exhibition Management Co., Ltd. It is UFI-approved and the most professional mid-high end shoes and bags exhibition in Asia.
