MDS will relocate to a new office – Sinar Mas Plaza

Messe Düsseldorf in China for more than 20 years

Relying on the advancement of the reform and opening up policy, China's economy entered the fast lane of development over the past 40 years. In the 1990’s, as one of the world leading exhibition organizers, Messe Düsseldorf GmbH noticed the great potential of the Chinese exhibition market. In 1999, its first office in China, Messe Düsseldorf (China) Co., Ltd. (MDC) was established in Wanchai of Hong Kong S.A.R, mainly providing Chinese companies with services of participation in overseas exhibitions.

In 2009, the 10th anniversary of the MDC, Messe Düsseldorf enhanced its investment in China with a new subsidiary Messe Düsseldorf (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (MDS) found in Shanghai. After more than 10 years growth, MDS has made a firm foot hold in the Chinese market with its head office located in the Pudong New Area of Shanghai and a branch office in Chaoyang District of Beijing. At present, the company has 60+ experienced employees, providing a full range of professional service to exhibitors and visitors from all over the world to participate in the trade shows held in China.

Since entering the Chinese market, Messe Düsseldorf has established many good, long-term relations and partnerships with several reputed domestic institutions, and has successfully curated 13 Asia's leading professional exhibitions, covering multiple industries including printing, packaging, rubber and plastic, wire and tube, wine and spirits, recreational vehicles (RVs), medical equipment, retail design and technology solutions, occupational safety and health goods, etc. In 2020, under the situation that global exhibition business was severely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, MDS still organized 6 events successfully in China. In 2021, the company will usher in the return of 10 projects, and it is expected that the total area will reach 600,000 square meters, serving more than 8,300 companies and over 330,000 professional buyers.

MDS keeps investing into the Chinese market

MDS constantly keeps an open mind and is always looking for new cooperation opportunities. In order to realize the future growth plan, the board of MDS has decided to relocate its Shanghai office from German Centre Shanghai to Sinar Mas Plaza.

MDS will take this opportunity to refresh its office space and showcase its strengths and commitment to the Chinese exhibition industry, affirming its firm confidence of its future development in this land. The company is convinced that this way of increasing investment will not only give back to the Chinese market for its support in its development in the past decade, but also express its expectation for great potential growth this market will offer.

New office heralds potential possibilities

The new office of MDS will be located at the 29th floor of the Sinar Mas Plaza, which is the tallest 5A+ grade office building in Puxi area of Shanghai. It is prominently situated in the North Bund's riverfront section, directly adjacent southwest to the Shanghai Bund area and facing north of Lujiazui. As city planning of Hongkou district, the North Bund Zone will be one part of the "Golden Business Triangle" of Shanghai together with the Lujiazui and the Bund.

These properties will consolidate the MDS corporate image to the market and shed more lights on its projects. Besides, the new site will have several transportation accesses, which will make the visiting of MDS partners, clients and colleagues easier.

On April 26th, MDS will firstly move to a temporary office on the 17th floor of the Sinar Mas Plaza. Then all staffs will officially move to the new space in the middle of August after space decoration completed. Let's look forward to it!
